Why did this cat attack this person?

While on LIVE tv, on a local morning show, it was adopt a pet segment, A woman was holding a cat and the camera was centered on the cat. She was talking about how nice, friendly, kid-friendly this cat is, and was petting this feline. It looked-up at her and procedure to latch on to her face and scratch and bite this woman, all you heard were screams and "am I bleeding!?" am I bleeding" They switched to the morning anchor which were laughing hysterically and then they went to break shortly there after. The woman was saying nice thing about the cat, so why did it attack?
