Is it bad for my friend to say that she won't go out with a guy who works for a living?

She was brought up with the idea that labor is for, in her words "uneducated slob rednecks". There's been many guys who she's liked but stopped talking to them when she found out that they worked for a living. She says she'll only go out with business men or aspiring professionals, not workers. Her last steady boyfriend was gong to school to be a Rabbi (she's encouraged to date within her faith), but he broke it off when he got tired of her attitude towards people. She's really vain and mean to people. Is this a common thing? Are working people really that gross?
