My has been itchy for some time now. some times its so bad that it get swollen when scratch.Any idea?

Well it started three months ago after I had with my boyfriend and it still pesters me once in a while. sometimes it dissapears but then comes up again. i haven't had again since my bf is somewhere else...so am not sure what it might be
