My Dwarf hamster makes a weird noise , like crackling?

What your hamster,misty, is doing is rubbing her top and bottom teeth together, I believe. It is completely normal.I used to think they did this to show aggression but now I have no clue thanks to my new baby piggies.Patches does it all the time even when Snickers isn't around. My old guinea pig ,Sophie, used to do it only when our other piggie ,Stone, was around. Oh and your other hamster, Dusty, is just being a "scaredy-cat". Dusty doesn't know if these things are safe so he/she lets misty try it first. Misty, in his/her mind, is the leader of their little group.
