Child support modification due to income decrease and a pending criminal case.?
A friend of mine was recently arrested, spent about a month in jail awaiting bail, and lost all ets in this time. His business is gone as well as cars and home. He is now staying with a friend and working odd jobs to pay lawyer fees for his upcoming case. He maintains his innocence and we all support that. He has always been very responsible with his child support payments and many times would pay it a month in advance for the entire month. Obviously since this problem started his has been unable firstly for being incarcerated and then now for not being able to make ends meet with even his lawyer. He has filed for a modification and has not heard anything back from the office. Is there anything he can do in the mean time so that he not penalized for not paying i.e.suspended liscense, credit notification, or even being sent to jail. ect. Please advise.....also no biased answers because of his criminal case. We should not judge providing his situation. Sometimes good people end up
